Meet The clinic Founder

Caleb Coe

Caleb Coe

Caleb Coe is a physical therapist, strength coach, and founder of Big Cat Performance and Physical Therapy – a clinic built on the belief that rehab should be just as focused, intense, and individualized as training. Based in North Canton, Ohio, Caleb lives with his wife Courtney and their daughter Savannah, and is known for his unique ability to blend performance-based principles with high-level rehabilitation. But his story, and the origins of Big Cat, go much deeper.

Caleb’s journey into physical therapy began long before any formal schooling. Raised in a competitive household in Dayton, Ohio, he grew up playing basketball, football, and track, and always found himself surrounded by a culture that celebrated hard work and movement. With three younger siblings, the environment at home was energetic and driven – and sports quickly became a core part of who he was. From early on, Caleb was drawn to the process of pushing limits and improving performance, whether on the field or in the weight room.

After high school, Caleb went on to play collegiate football, where he became a four-year starter and All-American linebacker. But it wasn’t just the competition that shaped him – it was the countless hours spent in the weight room and the athletic training facility. Multiple minor injuries introduced him to the world of rehab, prehab, and strength and conditioning. He wasn’t the most genetically gifted athlete, so he leaned heavily on training to give himself an edge. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for understanding how the human body moves, recovers, and thrives.

During his college years, Caleb launched a small side business – Big Cat Performance and Physical Therapy – training local athletes in his hometown during summer breaks. What started as a passion project quickly grew into a calling. He loved the energy of the gym, the one-on-one coaching, and the opportunity to help others become stronger, more confident, and injury-resilient. Even while attending physical therapy school, he kept training athletes, always with a vision that one day he could merge both worlds: rehab and performance, together under one roof.

However, once he entered traditional physical therapy settings during his clinical rotations, Caleb’s enthusiasm was put to the test. What he encountered was discouraging: clinics that were understaffed and overcrowded, therapists juggling multiple patients at once, and a system that relied more on templates and paperwork than real patient care. Instead of the personalized, intentional experience he envisioned, he saw a broken system that often failed to meet the needs of active individuals – especially athletes.

Caleb nearly left PT school altogether. But encouraged by his wife and driven by his original mission, he stuck with it – knowing that the best way to change the system was to build something better.

That vision became Big Cat Performance and Physical Therapy.

At Big Cat, Caleb brings together his background in strength and conditioning with a high-performance rehab model that focuses on what truly matters: helping people return to what they love. Whether that’s getting back on the field, into the gym, or simply living pain-free in their day-to-day life, his approach is personalized, evidence-based, and delivered with purpose.

Caleb’s mission is simple: to close the gap between traditional rehab and true performance. While many clinics use “sports medicine” in their name, few actually deliver on it. Big Cat is different. It’s designed for athletes and active adults who have been let down by generic programs and are ready for a smarter, more effective way forward.

If you’ve been frustrated by the traditional physical therapy system – or if you’re looking for a provider who actually understands what it takes to return to high-level movement – Caleb Coe and Big Cat Performance and Physical Therapy are here to help you reclaim your strength, resilience, and confidence.
